Goofy Pictures From Paris
I don’t know what it is about this picture but I get such a laugh out of it every time I see it! This is the Stravinsky Fountain in Paris, near the Centre Pompidou. The fountain is full of silly sculptures but this one is my favorite. It seems so inappropriate in a classy city like Paris that someone would create a sculpture of lips and have water coming out of them like they’re giving someone the raspberry. Do a little research on Le Centre Pompidou here http://www.junior.centrepompidou.fr/ and see what you can find out. It’s a fascinating place from the outside of the building to the things are on display inside.
For those who want to do some extra credit and make some powerpoint projects, this might be something good to research!

That is a cool fountain, but completely out of place. But perhaps it is not……after all Parisians did not like la Tour Eiffel when it was first built but now it is the iconic symbol of Paris. And Paris is a city of art so it does have to incorporate some modern art.

It’s awesome though and someday france will be famous for it just like it’s famous for the effiel tower.

That sculpture is very funny, I’d like to see the other sculptures in that fountain. And who made them? I don’t have time to look right now but I will when I can.

I remember seeing goofy lips on the video and all I could think about was that band my mom used to like named the rolling stones except there is no tounge sticking out. Who was the artist is it someone we know, or is it someone we don’t know?

Those lips are realy startining to freak me out now! Why wpuld some one put creepy lips with other wonderful sculpures? If I was that peron I would not put those lips there let alone creat them. If no one created those lips would you creat them?

that is like super cool! I wish I had that fountain in my backyard! Though that probably wouldn’t go too we’ll. Though Im just wondering why exactly did this artist decide to make a fountain shaped like lips and what was there inspiration…..

Ha this is so cool! it also reminds me of the sculptures that are behind the Lourve. The ones that each represent a month! I guess you could say that France has a lot of crazy sculpture makers:)
