A Few of Your Favorite Things
Ok, now that we know why so many of you like French, what is your most FAVORITE part of learning French? Is there something special we do in class that you love? Were you excited the first time you could say something you always wanted to know how to say? Do you get excited when you see something new in French and you can actually understand some of it?

My favorite part about learning french is that I get to learn a different culture. I have always wanted to go to Paris. It has always been a dream of mine to go there. I have always wanted to go there because it is called the city of romance, and I thought it would be cool. So i thought i should learn the language.

My most favorite part about learning french, is doing the book work with the conversations then. watching the little videos, on them and then taking the review at the end of it.. I was so excited when, I could learn how to say what spots I like to do and what the weather is like. I do get excited when I see something new in French and I sometimes get it, it feels great that, that you know something you haven’t taught us.

J’adore tout de francais!
I get excited when I can understand French, especially in my correspondence with Mlle. K and Miss Jolana. I am also excited that I sometimes do not have to think through what I am going to say in French, it just pops out! I think that is because I speak French to myself so much (in this last sentence it was a struggle for me to write the English because the French just kept popping up in my head!).

I love french because it lets you explore alittle in they’re culture. To them speaking french is a normal language and before i started taking french lessons i probably would have fel;t strange whenever i heard french. When I went to on the quebec trip last year I was sitting down on a bench in a mall, and then i see this small family pass by and i hear the little boy saying “merci beacoup! merci beacoup!” and i felt kind of amazed seeing that i understood him and that i was in a completely different place. When i learn french it is like experiencing another culture. So when i learn french it’s like im experiencing alittle bit oif what it’s like in paris, or some other french speaking place. I also think it’s cool to speak something other than english, and still understand them!

Sam,
I remember the same thing happening to me the first time I went to France. I was shopping on a street one day and I realized I had just listened to a mother and child having a conversation and I didn’t even have to try to understand it, I just did! The funny thing is that she was yelling at him, saying “when I’ve said that’s enough, that’s enough”. I thought it was so funny that mothers say the same things to their kids no matter what the language!

I love that I could go to a francophone place and be able to communicate. It feels powerful. I knew someone who went on a missionary trip all over the world, and the people with the easiest time overall were those who spoke second languages.

My Favorite Part is that you really explain it and use visuals and the visuals really help when i am in the middle of a test and don’t remember it then i remember the visuals So that is my favorite part of French Class along with just knowing a different language so that if i go to a country that speaks that language then i can communicate with the people their

Learning French has been pretty hard for me. Although I do love the sound and the flow of the language. I feel accomplished when I finally learn something I’ve been trying to say for a long time. Being one of the slower learners in French, it makes me proud to know I can actually understand a lot of the stuff we learn.

Maeve- you are NOT one of the slower learners in my class! You catch on very fast!

Dear Ms.Watson,
What I like about French class is that I have a great teacher to learn from, also like diffrent songs in French, and I love the culture that France has.
I really like that I can go to my french class and I know I am going to learn something new and even do a review on what we have allready learned. -Elizabeth

I really like French class and I have gone to it for a week now and i and I have already learned so much. My favorite part of it is how we can learn how to say words that we don’t know yet, but other words are just review. It is so much fun to learn in French and some of the words are almost the same in Spanish That makes it a lot easier to learn!. Elizabeth
